handmade ceramics ... rough ... elegant ... colourful ... contrasting ... different ...

ABOUT MVCW

Hello, MVCW stands for Marc Verbiest Ceramic Works. So my name is Marc Verbiest and, given my age of 55, I am a late developer as far as ceramics are concerned. I am an interior designer by training and have always had a quiet admiration for clay, ceramics and throwing pots in particular.

In the distant past, I took a few pottery classes, but in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it was only after the summer of 2021 that I sought and found the time to pursue the spark of ceramic work. I took a first series of lessons at ceramics studio Clay-days in Mechelen after summer 2021. After a few lesson series, I joined the open studio at Clay-days.

Meanwhile, I have my own mini-studio where I try to do my own thing in peace. I try to put some rough, contrasting, yet colourful and elegant touches in my pieces and try to work in small editions, each of which has its own line/name.

At the end of 2022, I started taking some master classes, including with Vera Stoefs.

End 2023 the website and webshop "MVCW" should be up and running.

Another hobby I have is cooking. I thought it would be nice to combine clay work and cooking and put some simple recipes online and showcase them in my ceramic work.
